CSC Screeding Winners at FPDC Awards event
CSC is delighted and honoured as our 25 years of dedication and passion for quality screeding gets recognized by the industry with the prestigious FPDC Plaisterers’ Award for Screeding. The award comes as a recognition for the skill and expertise displayed by our team in carrying out the screeding for the Arcelormittal Orbit – the iconic steel tower designed by renowned architects Anish Kapoor and Cecil Balmond for the 2012 London Olympic Park.
The extremely challenging project involved the supply and installation of 75mm FlexiDry screed F3/21days over underfloor heating and insulation for the two observation decks and the top of the 120m tall spiralling steel tower.

According to the FPDC judges, “The result of the project was remarkable. Installing screed in an artwork is an unusual project, especially one set within the Olympic Park. Logistical challenges included the need to work during nights and at weekends only, and hoist material to the work area manually. Levelling was achieved by means of string lines to account for predicted settling of the finished decks.”

“We are delighted and honoured,” says CSC Managing Director, Spencer Warner. “The award is truly recognition for the hard work that our team put in. With freezing temperatures, restricted access and the logistical challenges involved in transporting materials up a 120m tall spiralling steel tower, all the odds were practically against us. But I am proud that our team showed exceptional dedication and commitment, and delivered the project on time and to the quality that has come to be regarded as the CSC trademark. I must also say, the highly reliable drying time and exceptional quality level of the FlexiDry F3/21days screed we used were also vital in helping us nail this project.”
We have worked extremely hard to get here, and we take this opportunity to thank our staff, clients and partners for their constant support and trust in us. We see this award as an impetus to continue in our pursuit of excellence through further investments in staff training, process management and improved health and safety practices.

We will continue to update the website with lots of useful information, and we sincerely hope the information will assist in educating everyone who has an interest in screeding and our trade sector.
