IS IT RIGHT FOR THE JOB?
Damp Proof Membranes
Damp Proof Membranes are essential for safeguarding the screed and toppings from moisture. Different types of polythene are utilised to create a barrier between the screeds and insulations on ground floors, protecting them from rising damp. Typically, a 1200 gauge polythene is used for this purpose, along with a 500 gauge as a separating membrane to ensure that the moist screed remains isolated from the insulation layer.
Radon Barriers
Radon Barriers are installed to prevent Radon from entering a building through airflow from the ground below. There are both passive and active methods for achieving radon protection. A passive system includes an airtight radon-proof membrane across floors and walls, while an active system involves natural or mechanical underfloor ventilation or a powered extraction system as part of the services, which may come with ongoing running and maintenance costs.
Primers
Primers serve as essential sealers and keys for both mechanical and chemical bonding, available in systems or standalone. They include SBR, cement, and water mixes for mechanical keys, applied wet on wet, and are designed for tough, smooth, non-porous surfaces when used as chemical primers. Application methods range from brushes and rollers to airless sprays for rough surfaces. Consult a specialist contractor for proper application guidance.

Testimonials
Our Clients’
Thoughts
CSC screeding was very efficient that they screeded our floor in under 4 hours (around 91sqm) with the help of the Mixamate! Ben and Wayne were very helpful and professional from start to finish, and the pre-visit survey was informative and essential to ensure no issues on the actual day. The workmen on the day were super friendly and efficient. Our line of works means we interact with contractors everyday, but seldom do we encounter such high levels of service, efficiency and performance throughout the entire process. Would highly recommend them for floor screeding.
