Green meets sleek for The Bluff, Chinnor

August 2012

Stylish, sleek, contemporary and green- The Bluff, Chinnor could be the face of new age construction. With green grass roofs, bio mass boilers and solar panels serving to boost the energy efficiency of £3.1m private residence atop the Chinnor Hills of Oxfordshire, the Bluff is the perfect picture of green and sleek Italian construction.
CSC is proud to have been part of this project, which is Mivan Primes maiden venture in the UK. Despite featuring an ultra-contemporary design and high-end luxury interiors, the construction showcases high standards of sustainability.
In keeping with the sustainability standards set for the building, we decided on energy efficient, fast drying floor screed FlexiDry for the project. FlexiDry F3, with a drying time of 21 days, was used to create an energy efficient complement for the heated floors of the sprawling, 5200sq.ft hilltop mansion. FlexiDry was specially chosen as it helps to cut energy use and improve energy efficiency of under floor heating systems by serving as an efficient thermal conductor that conducts heat evenly across the floor.
Unlike normal pre-bagged powder screeds, using FlexiDry also helped to keep wastage and dust generation at the site to the minimum, and helped in avoiding the usual polythene curing procedure that is required for normal screeds.
