Floor Scabbling

August 2013

We were lucky to inspect a site prior to carrying out floor screeding. As can be seen floor preparation was in progress and so we managed to snap a few pictures. To ensure the quality of your floor screed you need to consider the conditions of the base prior to the application of the floor screed. Certain types of screed construction will require more than just a smooth surface.  In these pictures we see floor scabbling in action.

A definition for the  Scabbling process:
Roughens too-smooth surfaces to leave a ‘tooth’ for better screed adhesion
