CSC lays the screed for Peterhouse Dementia Care Unit

CSC completed the screeding for the Peterhouse Dementia Care Unit, Great Yarmouth. The £6.9 million ‘super care home’ is expected to be a groundbreaking project that will pave the way for specialist dementia care in the UK.

CSC carried out the screeding for 6000 sq.m of the care home floors on behalf of principal contractors R.G Carter, who won the Performance Beyond Compliance award for the project. We are happy to have extended our expertise and experience to our clients for this landmark health care project, which will serve as a replacement for three older care homes across Norfolk.
We installed fast drying floor screed “FlexiDry F3” over underfloor heating to provide improved energy efficiency and a quick drying time of 21 days as opposed to 110 days for traditional screeds.
The long awaited facility has been specially designed with inclusive spaces connecting internal and external areas to enable the residents to remain connected to nature. The design for the buildings has been developed in liaison with the experts in dementia care from the Stirling and Worcester Universities.
The 89 bed care home is in the last phase of construction, and is scheduled to be open to residents later this year. CSC extends our heartiest congratulations to R G Carter for achieving the Considerate Constructors Scheme award for Performance Beyond Compliance on this landmark project!
