CSC is delighted to have been awarded the screeding contract for 155 new apartments for the high profile residential development taking shape in the Greenwich peninsula. The development is part of the Greenwich Peninsula regeneration scheme which will see 190 acres of previously contaminated land reclaimed and transformed into a key commercial district with new business, leisure and living spaces.

CSC has commenced the screeding for Building 115 on behalf of principal contractors Wates Construction Ltd. Spencer Warner, Managing Director of CSC Screeding said “We are delighted to be working with Wates on yet another project after the recent Crest Academy project. Our extensive experience in sustainable high profile residential developments will prove to be valuable in meeting the exceptional quality standards for this landmark development.”

The river facing development will consist of 155 apartments arranged in 4 buildings, creating a perimeter block with a central courtyard. Fast drying floor screed FlexiDry Universal will be used for heated as well as unheated apartments across the development to get the screed dry within a period of 21 days. The screed will be laid over thermal insulation and DPM for the ground floors, and over Yelofon HD10 acoustic insulation for the upper floors. The thermal insulation on the upper floors will prevent downward heat loss, and the acoustic insulation will block the transmission of impact and air borne noises.

The £121Million scheme is one of the largest regeneration projects in Europe, and will be carried out in various phases, with the latest phase scheduled for delivery by the summer of 2016. CSC Screeding’s partnership with Wates on the Crest Academy project was showcased in the October issue of Tomorrow’s Flooring.

Edge protection used on the site

The image above shows an example of “edge protection” that has been used on the site by our team of screeders. Screed protection should be considered if your screeded areas are likely to receive early site traffic before the screed has had a chance to fully dry.
