There is never a dull day in the action packed life of Victoria. If it’s a tow up the London’s tallest tower on electronic winches one day, it is a helicopter ride to the top of apartments Alana Heights the next, and all the way to the glamorous Sushi Samba restaurant atop the Heron towers the following day. But no matter what the challenges, it’s all in a day’s work for Victoria and her dedicated screeding team.
Victoria is the newest addition to CSC’s fleet of screed pumps. The latest of her assignments was the screeding for the MD’s office on the 6th floor of the Hampton Hilton Hotel at the Luton Airport. Though nothing might sound out of the ordinary for this project, the hitch here was – the hotel was a fully functioning one with all the floors below occupied by hotel guests.
Now our mission was obviously to carry out the screeding with minimum disruption to the hotel’s daily activities. We are delighted to say, Victoria and our brilliant team did a great job as usual. Fast Drying floor screed FlexiDry F1 was pumped up to the 6th floor. The screed was laid at a thickness of 75mm for an area of 195 m2. And given the fact that the swishing screed pipes had to be routed up the stairs past gleaming tiled floors and glass stair rails, the team literally took every step to ensure the polished surfaces remain unscathed after all the work.
And thanks to the co-operation of the hotel staff and our client, specialist refurbishment contractors, Murray and Willis, Victoria and our team left the site with the full satisfaction of having delivered yet another challenging screeding project to full CSC standards.
