IOSH safety and HealthCSC Screeding Limited is delighted to publish the reports of our recent Health and Safety Review. CSC sees it as a priority to ensure every possible step is taken to promote best practice and ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers. In an effort to identify any health and safety issues and assess the effectiveness of the existing health and safety management, procedures and policies an H&S audit was commissioned earlier this month by Spencer Warner, Managing Director, CSC Screeding Limited.

The audit which was carried out by The Health and Safety People (THSP) was intended to:

  • Assess the workplace and premises for risk
  • Identify any breaches of legislation or non compliance with approved codes of practice, industry best practices or standards
  • Analyze specific areas of risk
  • Identify areas that require training
  • Formulate an action plan to tackle the most serious issues in a prioritized manner.

We are proud to report that our Risk Management was assessed as being of a very high standard and our training regime was evaluated as being well managed and comprehensive with a good line management system for instruction and supervision. CSC ensures our mangers are Tech IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) qualified and we see to it that we operate an open door policy for employees to raise any concerns without reservations.

Our management of hazardous substances was also assessed as being well organized, and we are happy to find all our employees feel they are able to discuss any health and safety issues freely with the management.

All the same, the audit has also been constructive in bringing to our notice the requirement of issuing pre-employment health questionnaires, conducting machine guarding training for all operatives and continuing with the development of operators packs containing pertinent information about the relevant tasks.

An action plan has been formulated to address the issues highlighted in the audit and all necessary steps are being taken for its effective implementation, and we look forward to continuing to provide a safe and healthy work environment to all our employees and customers.
